Women Crush Wednesday : Style Crush : BEYONCÉ
Right on up there with my love for Kate Spade (ehemm…), tulle (ehemm…), and winter whites (ehemm…) is my undying love for the Queen B.
I love her music (DUH), her ‘there can never be too many sequins’ attitude, and her desire to help others.
I could go on forever, but onto the good stuff; her look…
We are smack in the middle of the holidays, are we not? In honor, I picked a holidayesque outfit that Bey sported. I tweaked it a little to make it something I want in my closet RIGHT NOW.
Top // Pencil Skirt // Boots // Earrings // Watch // Clutch
Similar for less: Pencil Skirt // Earrings // Clutch
Maybe you’ll BEY inspired to wake up like that?
Or BEY inspired to just…
…do whatever the heck you want!
Whatever it is, I hope you feel flawless in it.
On a very important side note! This post is dedicated to one of my very best’s birthday today; the only other girl who will go to a Beyoncé concert every year with me for the rest of our ‘who runs the world, GIRLS’ filled days.
Cheers to you!
And remember everyone…

Happy New Year’s Eve!
Crushing on Ben Howard this week.
He’s 27. He’s an English singer-songwriter. His influences are Van Morrison, Simon & Garfunkel, and Joni Mitchell.
I think his songs pair well with a Sunday night by the fire, a rainy day, a long bus ride, or a tall glass of vino. What doesn’t go well with a tall glass of vino, you ask? Nothing, but you get my point.
Here are my favorites of Ben…take a listen.
#AmIright, ladies and gents? Swoon.
May his songs even pair well with a Monday at work.

What is your finishing touch?
Incredible deals are to be found after Christmas! My sister grabs up all her Christmas gifts for the next year on this day and I’ve come to adopt her tradition. Steals and deals, people. Steals and deals. Also, it’s not that often that I get to go to the outlets so I don’t say no.
I managed to get most of next year covered. Incredible! I also picked up some fun stuff for myself so I wanted to share.
These items were already on sale AND THEN they offered 50% off plus an extra 20%. Thanks J.Crew and BR! I could not say no.
Especially when I love loafers, sparkle, and rompers.
And all things black (ehemm…)
The best thing is, I didn’t come home with an empty wallet! Woot!
Anyone else grab up goodies today for next year?
P.S. I had some technical difficulties with the Friday Favorites post. Check it out if you didn’t get a chance!
I don’t know about you but this describes my Christmas holiday to a T.
Therefore, my favorites are dedicated to ALL THINGS COMFORT. Comfort to me includes pajama’s, slipper socks, and a good throw. See below for the goods!
One // Two // Three
One // Two // Three
One // Two // Three
*Christmas sales are pretty good!
I hope you enjoyed! I’ll leave you with my favorite Christmas SNL skit while I write to you in the comfort of my own pj’s, slipper socks, and throw (#3 throw to be specific….and it’s how my dad described everything this Christmas…so awesome).
May your holiday season be merry & bright!
Women Crush Wednesday : Style Crush : Gloria Steinem
My first suggested style post! How exciting! A few weeks ago, a good friend of mine asked if I would segment the ever so iconic, Gloria Steinem. Challenge accepted. With glee! Steinem has moved mountains when it comes to the women’s liberation movement. Through journalism and activism, she’s fought tirelessly in the quest for gender equality. Her words are always powerful and poignant.
Her list of accolades are astounding but here are three things worth knowing about this powerhouse of a lady:
1. Her undercover work at Hugh Heffner’s Playboy Club in New York helped her to highlight the poor working conditions in I was a Playboy Bunny. Her investigation was later turned into the movie A Bunny’s Tale. 2. She co-founded Ms. magazine back in 1972; a magazine run solely by women as a way to shed light on the tough challenges women face. In it’s 42nd year, it continues to pride itself on birthing a magazine from a movement. 3. In March, she welcomed her 80th birthday! You can still find Steinem writing, and filling a calender with speeches and appearances (mostly in New York).
Her journey embodies perserverance and strength. She’s amazing!
NOW, onto her style. I love a good all black outfit. It’s always slimming, but more importantly, always stunning. As seen above, Gloria loves black. She loves cuffs. She loves hardware. She loves a smokey eye and a nude lip. Instead of replicating a classic Gloria look, I decided to keep key elements of her style but modernize it into something that I would have in my closet.
Top // Pants // Boots // Clutch // Cuff // Eyeshadow // Lipgloss
I asked my dear friend how do we become friends with this lady? HOW? HOW? She writes back “I feel like we’re already friends with her just by being strong women.” LOVE!
I’ll leave you with one of my favorite quotes from Steinem…
I hope you enjoyed this weeks WCW.
GUYS! Today I tried making my very first Aςai (Asai? Achai? Akai?) bowl! However you say it, today was my first venture on this totally healthy breakfast trend. No surprise here that I’m late to this party, as well.UGH. #firstworldproblems
On my way back from getting my hair did (thanks Christie!), I stopped in Whole Foods to pick up some of this…
And some of this…
Everything else I had at home.
Since I’ve never had or made this bowl before, I wasn’t feeling very adventurous. I decided to stick with the recipe on the back of Sambazon.
What you need:
1 Sambazon Aςai berry pack
1/4 cup of Coconut Water
1/4 cup of granola (your choice)
1 tbsp of cocnut shavings
1 tsp of cinnamon
Blend the aςai, coconut water, and 1/2 banana until it looks like this…
Add granola, remaining banana (sliced), coconut shavings, and cinnamon until it looks like this…
Enjoy like this….
Cheers to you aςai berry! Looking forward to all the anti-aging, weight loss, protein, and energy that you should be giving me with this breakfast.
P.S. Do you like my hair?
Man Crush Monday….or Men Crush Monday.
I can make my own rules on this thing.
The Manzano brothers, better known as Boyce Avenue, all land a spot on MCM today. While you really only see the lead singer in their videos, all three brothers play an integral role in the band.
I love them best for their cover songs so here are my top five.

May your Monday go by quickly! (says everyone, everywhere)
