Over the holiday, I was craving my most favorite movie (scroll to #1 to find out), so I figured it was only fitting to focus on my favorite classic films of all time! Here goes…
5. Ninotchka, 1939
Greta Garbo and Melvyn Douglas. A Russian woman and a Parisian man; opposites attract. Garbo is full of gumption and it’s amazing.
4. Breakfast At Tiffany’s, 1969
Audrey Hepburn and George Peppard. New York City and romance and Audrey Hepburn; doesn’t get much better.
3. Christmas In Connecticut, 1945
Barbara Stanwyck and Dennis Morgan. I turned AMC on one day and couldn’t turn it off. If the Stepford Wives was turned into a comedy, it would be this movie.
2. Sabrina, 1954
Audrey Hepburn, Humphrey Boggart, and William Holden. A girl is caught in a love triangle between two brothers. Hepburn gold. The remake wasn’t so bad, either!
AND MY MOST FAVORITE OF ALL TIME
1. Pillow Talk, 1959
Doris Day and Rock Hudson. A shared telephone line, a sassy lady, and a playboy; ROMCOM gold. I would visit my grandmother in Texas when I was little and she always had this playing at least once. I fell in love.
I hope you enjoyed my old fashioned favorites this week. If you have some time over the winter, I definitely recommend. Amazon Prime member? You can rent all of these for under $3.00!
