We go together like avocado and LITERALLY everything.

I had you at avocado, #amIright?

avocado toast

What you need:

1 avocado

1 slice of bread, toasted

1 lime

Salt and pepper to taste

While your bread is toasting, start smashing the avocado until it’s to the consistency you would like. I like a few chunky pieces left over but to each his or her own! Add 1/2 lime (squeezed) and salt/pepper to taste. Use half of the avocado mix and place it onto your newly toasted bread. TIP: Use the rest of the avocado in your salad for lunch. EAT UP. It’s so yummy.

THE GREATEST PART. There are so many different ways you can avocado your toast. Add a sunny side up egg and red pepper flakes. Add scallions and tomato and feta. Add cream cheese and chia seeds. Add goat cheese and turkey bacon. Add tomatoes and basil. ENDLESS IDEAS.

I just had plain avocado today but I’m looking forward to trying all the different ways I can energize my mornings.

Cold Brew Pressing

Feeling like this?

PREACH. The struggle is so real. But the answer, you ask? Cold brew press!

I’ve been secretly brewing (see what I did there?) over making my own cold brew!! It’s less acidic (your chompers will thank you), tastes a little sweeter and less bitter (which means less sugar/milk in your coffee…your waist line will thank you #bikiniseason), and there’s little to no waste (your bank account will thank you). Nailing it, cold brew. Nailing it!

It’s also quick and you can make it a part of your Sunday prep for the week.

What you will need:

12 oz of your favorite brand of coffee (1.5 cups)

6 cups of water

Cheese cloth, pitcher, bowl

Pitcher and grounds

Add the coffee grounds to the pitcher of water

Stir in grounds

Fridge frame

Place it in your fridge for 24 hours

FullSizeRender (56)

Place the cheese cloth over the empty bowl

Pour some cold brew on me, in the name of ENERGY!

Pour the cold brew into the cheese cloth and watch it catch all of the grounds

Pour into your favorite coffee mug, add ice, and prepare as desired. I take my coffee with almond milk and I noticed I didn’t need as much as I usually do with hot coffee. Don’t be surprised if you take your first sip, and feel like this…

TIP: I was thinking that it might even be easier to just place the grounds into the cheese cloth, tie it with a twist tie and then place the cloth into the pitcher of water and let that brew for 24 hours. I didn’t try that so I can’t attest to how well it would work. I’ll be doing it again next week so I’ll let everyone know. Or fill me in if you end up trying it!

TIP: If you’re looking to add some flavor, mix in coconut flakes, vanilla bean sprigs, cinnamon sticks, or anything you would like before you let it brew for 24 hours. The flavor will shine through and it will taste amazing!

Let me know what flavors you choose! Happy Friday!

P.S. It is my one year blogiversary!! Thank you guys so much for checking in on my posts. I hope you guys enjoy them as much as I do writing them! Cheers to another year. xx

Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in awhile, you could miss it.

Just taking a quick stop to smell the lavender. Daydreaming about my ultimate travel excursion to come; Routes de la Lavende. But also, the Mantanzas Creek Winery in Santa Rosa, CA (thanks for the tip, cousin!). There is nothing topping my bucket list (besides getting married #somebodywifemeup) than traveling the fields of lavender everywhere in the world.

Be still, my wallet.

I have found the retail store of my dreams. Trivial, I know, but it is so good. I’m thinking of quitting my per diem day job and working as a clerk just so that I can hang out, shop, hoard work there EVERY DAY. If you are ever in Niantic, you must stop at GRACE! You will love, love, love, love, love it.

DO NOT be surprised if you feel the need to stop everything and drive, fly, boat from wherever you live and get your butt to this store. But definitely DO NOT be surprised if you want to pitch a tent and live there.

Once you’ve actually managed to push yourself out the door, DO stop at Skippers and order the tossed salad with seafood, curly fries, and potato clam cakes. DO scope out a seat while you order because it.is.busy.

Skippers food, YUM.

DO stop at the the used book store down the street; The Book Barn and stock up on some books because you won’t have any money to do anything else but read for the next couple of months after all the damage you did at GRACE. #emphasisonthewordUSED #easyonthewallet

Book barn

DO go home broke and full. But really wallet, be still.

Independence Day!

Happy Fourth of July!

I hope everyone is enjoying the long holiday weekend with good friends and family!

I hope you are pairing this day with grill foods, cute fruit kabobs, s’mores, docked boats and american flag bathing suits, lobster rolls, fun holiday cocktails (watermelon mojito recipe coming your way), grilled mussels, and/or canoodling with your boo while watching the fireworks.

I especially hope it pairs well with the most patriotic outfit you can find. Fourth OOTD
